One Target. No Distractions.

David Hudson - Founder of Hudson Consultancy, Sherlock's Apprentice and the 169 to1 Initiative.

“My philosophy is that communication and common sense are essential in everything we do. If you can provide and deliver both successfully, you can’t go far wrong.” - David Hudson

Hello, I’m David.

I’m a greying global consultant and the founder of Hudson Consultancy Online, Sherlock’s Apprentice and the 169to1® initiative. With nearly thirty years of work behind me, from four continents, sixty sectors worth of experience, and a lot of airmiles under my belt, I finally settled at the geographic heart and centre of the world in Istanbul, Turkey.

I’ve helped people and organisations get clear on what they’re trying to do, improve how they communicate, and take steps that actually move things forward.

I started Hudson Consultancy to bring everything together. It’s where experience meets purpose. I work with individuals, teams, educators, NGOs, and businesses who want to grow, shift direction, or make more of what they already have. Focused support, practical steps, and clear thinking. In others words One Target. No Distractions.

Before Hudson, I ran two consultancy ventures in London; and have worked across the UK, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe. From teaching C-level executives from Scandinavian firms in Buenos Aires to training managers and executives from the Public and Private sector in Istanbul, I’ve built workshops, written publications, coached leaders, and supported early-stage teams. Sometimes the work is about structure. Sometimes it’s about language. Often it’s both.

I meet people from all walks of life; professionals looking to grow, students building confidence, and organisations trying to do more with less.

Here are five things I’ve learned along the way:

  • Small, steady steps build real change.

  • Having range is a strength, not a weakness.

  • Speak someone’s language and they’ll meet you halfway.

  • Hard skills open doors. Soft skills keep them open.

  • Tune in. Listen. Sometimes you need to use your heart. People won’t always tell you what matters. But they will show you.

If that sounds familiar or useful, feel free to get in touch. Whether you’ve got a challenge to tackle, a story to shape, or an idea to explore, I’d be happy to hear from you.

Welcome to Hudson.
